CARRIE INGALLS: THE FORGOTTEN SISTER, written by Clarissa Willis and illustrated by Kashif Qasim, was released on October 30, 2025, by Solander Press.
CARRIE INGALLS: THE FORGOTTEN SISTER is a brief biography of one of Laura Ingalls Wilder’s sisters. It covers Carrie’s life from her birth through when she was married in her early forties. The book is geared towards children between ages 6 and 11. Carrie has always been my favorite of the Ingalls sisters, and I would love to see a legitimate biography about her. Given this one is meant for kids, I was not expecting much. I didn’t think there would be much depth or detail, but I was hoping to learn at least a new fact or two about Carrie. Instead, I found myself screaming every time I came across an inaccuracy or outright incorrect statement. I’m trying not to judge too harshly since it is a children’s book, but it’s hard not to when some of the most basic facts about Carrie and/or the Ingalls family are incorrect.
Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher.
