Review of ALL ABOARD FOR MURDER by Ellen Byron

ALL ABOARD FOR MURDER (Golden Motel Mystery #3) by Ellen Byron will be released on July 28, 2026, by Kensington Cozies.

To celebrate both Halloween and the birthdate of the late Angus Sprockles, his only living descendent, Moses, is hosting a haunted ride and fundraiser at his narrow-gauge railroad attraction. After Moses is killed with a fallen tree branch during the fundraiser, Dee Stern becomes convinced that his death was not an accident. With a lengthy list of suspects, Dee has to unmask the killer before she becomes the next victim.

ALL ABOARD FOR MURDER is my favorite of the Golden Motel Mysteries—and not only because Halloween is involved. Much like A VERY WOODSY MURDER and SOLID GOLD MURDER, ALL ABOARD FOR MURDER is an entertaining and well-plotted book. There are plenty of twists, turns, and red herrings to keep the reader engaged. And with a handful of viable suspects, it kept me guessing until the end. Best of all is the setting . . . Dee’s Golden Motel allows for a new set of characters with each book while the neighboring Gold Rush towns are full of so much fun and potential for future books. I can’t wait to see what happens next at the “Murder Motel.”

Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for the ARC.
